Concrete Patios Abbotsford

Abbotsford home with a concrete patio that also acts as a retaining wall.
Even though they require a lot of time and attention, having a backyard is easily one of the best parts of homeownership. Especially in the summertime, many of us live out there between cookouts, parties, a quick tanning session or just a cup of coffee in the morning. Getting some fresh air while enjoying the beautiful BC summer, it doesn't get much better than that.

One of the best ways to get the most out of your backyard is to have a patio. This allows you to have a hard surface where you can put furniture, grills and anything else you might want to enjoy the great outdoors. But the materials you choose for your patio can make a difference in how you make the most of it.

Concrete Patio Installation

For many homes, their patios may be made out of wood or a wood composite. While it's true that wood patios are very popular for the versatility, they come with a list of major downsides. One of the more frequent involves their discoloration overtime for which they need to be painted or sealed periodically. Also, especially here in BC, our heavy rains cause splintering and wood rot over the years, which in turn encourage all kinds of creepy crawlies to join in our summer cookouts.
Because of these reasons, stone is a popular alternative. Stone is certainly beautiful and lasts longer than wood, but that comes with a price. Also, weeds can easily grow in the crevices and surfaces can become uneven in time, which makes it a less than ideal solution in the long term.

When considering the pros and cons of wood and stone, it's understandable why so many people choose to have concrete patios. Compared to other materials, both maintenance and long-term costs are much lower. When you factor in the wide range of colors, patterns and textures, we wouldn't have to do much convincing for you to understand that we can give you the patio of your dreams!

Before breaking ground, we would want to talk with you and see exactly what you have in mind for your patio. Regardless of whether you choose a more traditional installation (such as with broom finishes or exposed aggregate) or decide on something more suited to your specific tastes, we are always able to accommodate. For instance, if you want something that looks more like brick or cobblestone and less like concrete, stamping would be the best option for you. Once we can agree and how we can give you your perfect patio, you can have your patio installed in a matter of days compared to weeks when using other materials.

When it comes to maintenance, there's really no better option than concrete. In most cases, cleaning just involves a broom or hose, maybe a bit of occasional power washing in some cases. Depending on the type of finish you decide on, you may need additional treatments in the future. If that’s the case, we will show you how you can easily do this yourself or make arrangements to perform this for you.

With our experience and strong dedication to customer service, it's no mystery as to why so many have chosen to have Abbottsford Concrete Contractors install their patio. Not only can you have exactly what you want, but you can have it for decades to come!
